One of the questions TikTok creators ask the most is:

How to Add Text on a Tik Tok

So, here are my step by step instructions on how do you add text to a Tik Tok video:

Step 1: Record your video.

Step 2: Tap the red ‘Checkmark’ button at the bottom of the screen, after you finished recording.

Step 3: Tap the Aa icon at the bottom of the next screen to start typing your text.

  • While typing you will see options on the bottom of the screen that you can use (highlighting your text, changing your text alignment, changing the type of font you use, and changing the font color).

Step 4: When you are happy with the text, just tap the ‘Done’ button at the upper right hand corner of the screen.

Step 5: Tap the text, and move it to where you want it to be.

That’s it.

  • If you will tap the text again, you will be able to edit your text or set its duration (when you want the text to appear in the video, and for how long) on a timeline.
  • You will also see a play button (right next to the timeline) that let’s you test the changes you have made.
  • Once you are happy with the result just tap the checkmark icon at the bottom right hand side of the screen, and tap the red Next button which will then appear.
