How to Buy NFT for Beginners — How to Buy NFTs On OpenSea (QUICK & Easy Beginner Step By Step Guide)

How to Buy NFT for Beginners — How to Buy NFTs On OpenSea (QUICK & Easy Beginner Step By Step Guide)

Hi there,

In this lesson I want to show you how to buy an NFT.

So the first thing you will want to do is to login to Opensea.io.

Then before I will start exploring the different NFTS on the Opensea marketplace, I will first login to my Metamask wallet by clicking the profile icon at the top of the website, and then by clicking the blue Sign in button under the Sign in to your wallet caption.

In many websites on the Internet we use a username and a password to login (or an email with password) but with the Opeasea NFT marketplace you are login through a Metamask wallet because this is the service which will let us make transactions on the marketplace (you can use other digital wallets to sign in, but in this training we are using Metamask).

Then in the window that appears on the right, I will just insert my password inside the blank line under the password caption in the middle of the window, and then I will continue by clicking the blue UNLOCK button. That’s it, I have finished the login process and I will now be directed to my profile page.

On my Opensea Profile page I will be able to scroll down and see all the NFTs that I own.

I will then click the opensea logo at the upper right left side of the screen to return to the Opensea homepage.

Then I can simply click the blue Explore button to discover the different NFTs on the OpenSea NFT marketplace.

I can also scroll down the page to view the Exclusive OpenSea drops, and the trending NFTs (and I also have a drop down menu right next to the trending in caption which will allow me to see the trending NFTs inside a specific category.

But, in this example, I will scroll up and just click the blue Explore button to view all the NFTs in the Opensea marketplace.

Now, if this NFT, for example, looks interesting to me, I can simply click on it, and then click the blue Place Bid button in the middle of the screen to place my bid on this NFT.

If you see a Buy Now button instead of a Place Bid button, then that just means that you are looking at an auction, and you can actually buy the NFT right away by clicking on the button.

Now, regardless if we see a Buy Now button or a Place Bid option, the payment for the NFT will be taken from our digital meta mask wallet, and if you don’t enough in your meta mask wallet to pay for the NFT, then you will need to add funds to your Metamask wallet as I show you how to in another lesson.

It is important to know that you can use the same Metamask wallet, in different NFT marketplaces, and you don’t need to create a different Metamask wallet for each marketplace that you use.

So, if you want to buy an NFT on NFT marketplaces like Rarble or example, then you can simply go to a marketplace such as rareble.com, click the ‘“Connect Wallet” white button at the upper right hand corner of the screen, and click the Metamask wallet option in the middle of the screen (under the most popular caption) to login to your Metamask wallet.

If you prefer to buy NFTs on another NFTs marketplace, such as mintable, then again, you just go to site (in this case mintable.com), click the blue connect a wallet button at the top of the site, and then click the blue connect a wallet button under the MetaMask or Web3 Wallet caption.

So to sum it all up, there are different NFT marketplaces around the Internet which you can use to buy an NFT, but what remains the same is the one Metamask wallet that in each of the marketplaces you will login into in order to pay for the transaction fees.

So, in mintable, for example, I can go inside an NFT listing, and then (as I do in opensea) I can use a buy button on the right side of the screen to buy the NFT.

The payment will be deducted from my Metamask account, and then if I go rateable or opensea and buy (or sell) there an item I will see that my metamask wallet has less ethere due to my Mintalbe payment dedication.

Again the marketplace can change, but you should use the same Metamask wallet for all your transactions — weather you buy or sell.

Ok, so that’s it for this lesson, and I will see you in the lesson…goodbye.
