Hi Everyone,

One of the most popular questions that I see people ask about is:

What is Shadow Banning on Tiktok

I will answer this question in this story, but first..

If you will take just one thing from me in this story, then take this:

Don’’t Compare Yourself To Others

TikTok has given us all an amazing opportunity which rarely comes.

The idea that you can have zero followers, install the TikTok app on your smartphone at night, publish a short video a few seconds later, and get millions of views a few hours later is next to impossible in any other social platform.

This is why you will not want to lose this opportunity by not playing according to the TikTok rules.

There are many people who compare themselves to other TikTok creators, who for some reason or another have more fans than them, and then try to bend or break the TikTok terms of service because they think that by doing so they will be able to compete better with those other successful TikTok creators.

The problem with bending or breaking the TikTok rules is that it is a short term strategy that doesn’t work for the long run.

I see people buying followers, following others just to get those people to follow them back, creating fake engagement, publishing videos that they shouldn’t, and even changing their IP address to an IP address of other countries, because they think that by doing so they may get extra views from this country users.

Even though it might be true that TikTok works best in the US and Asia, then it works in other countries, it still doesn’t mean that changing IP to those counties IP is a valid method.

You should read the TikTok terms of service to see that you play by their rules, but at the end of the day it all comes down to simple common sense.

In most cases if you need to think twice before publishing a certain video or implementing a new strategy on your account, then I say don’t risk it.

You might lose some views, but it will not risk your TikTok account.

Or if you publish a video in England in the morning, for example, then don’t change your IP to India a few minutes later, and publish a video as though you were there.

No one will fly from England to India in a few minutes, and start publishing TikTok videos right after landing.

This doesn’t require a deep understanding of the TikTok rules nor does it require an extremely sophisticated TikTok algorithm to detect that, and ban your TikTok account.

This is what people refer to as: Shadow Ban.

Shadow Ban is the idea that TikTok no longer shows all your videos or some of your videos to TikTok users, and that they don’t even inform you that they have blocked your videos.

Saying this, many TikTok creators immediately come up to the conclusion that they were shadow banned just because they are not getting as many views they were used to.

  • If you constantly publish inappropriate videos, change your IP address or buy fake followers, for example, then yes TikTok might limit your reach, suspend your account, and even ban your TikTok account permanently.

If you read the TikTok terms of service, and you believe that you follow all their rules, then it is very unlikely that you have been banned by TikTok.

The best thing you can do is to talk to friends and family about your TikTok activities and show them your videos, and see what they say about how you conduct on TikTok and the quality of your videos.

Fresh eyes, a new perspective, might just be the thing that you need.

Now you might have also wondered:

How to Remove Shadow Ban on Tiktok

No one knows if there is a Shahow Band to begin with because there is no a shadow ban tool like: a tiktok shadow ban checker

If you feel that you are never getting enough views from your TikTok videos or that your views have decreased dramatically, then simply try to create other types of content (because if I look at it logically, TikTok will not keep driving traffic to videos that constantly don’t get a lot of engagement).

So maybe you will get more engagement by publishing new kind of videos, and overtime the TikTok algorithm will detect that the level of engagement has increased on your videos, and thus send you more traffic.

So, for example, if you’re always publishing gaming videos, then try to publish self improvement tips, business tips, or traveling advice.

Just go back to the drawing board, and find a new popular topic that you are passionate about, and that you can test.
